Prof. Dr. Michael Behnes, MHBA, is the Head of Interventional Cardiology at the First Department of Medicine, Mannheim University Hospital (University of Heidelberg), Germany. He spearheads the specialized CHIP and CTO program and leads the CEAR (Clinical-Experimental Application Research) group, managing a high-impact research network with a relevant track record of over 300 peer-reviewed publications. His clinical and scientific expertise focuses on high-risk, vulnerable cardiovascular patients, specifically addressing complex CAD, heart failure, cardiac arrest, and shock. A dedicated advocate for the next generation of cardiologists, he places a special emphasis on clinical and academic mentoring and serves as a member of the scientific advisory board of the international EURO CTO Club.
